"Our son Brett has Epilepsy and was being worked up to see if he was a surgical candidate to stop his seizures. We were at the hospital for 10 days and only 1 seizure was recorded by EEG monitoring. Dr. Inglese really wanted at least 2 seizures recorded but Brett and I couldn't manage staying at the hospital any longer. Dr. Inglese contacted Ambulatory EEG Recordings (AER) who was able to dispatch Dave, a technologist, to Dr. Inglese's office at the time of discharge in order to get Brett set up with portable EEG monitoring equipment. We didn't want to take the chance of missing any seizures. Brett and I went home with the portable equipment. It took Brett 31 days on the EEG equipment to record another seizure. During this time the staff of AER was always supportive, cooperative and professional. Brett also has Asperger's Syndrome and often was not the most cooperative, but the staff was patient and treated him with kindness and respect. We would strongly recommend Ambulatory EEG Recordings services for anyone needing an extended EEG. Wearing the equipment is not the most comfortable, but when you are in your own home it is much more tolerable. The staff with AER is very knowledgeable and took the time to make sure we understood everything during the entire process. Even though it turned out Brett is not a surgical candidate, Dr. Inglese was able to use the information from the EEG study to determine Brett's treatment. Thank you!" "Thank you AER for realizing the needs of people with epilepsy. As a mother of an 11 year old child who has had seizures since birth, we have had many EEG's.
Getting an EEG has always been a big ordeal. Thankfully, you have captured a way to make EEG's quick and easy. In the past we have had to drive 45 minutes
to the closest EEG ambulatory hook up location, then return again a couple of days later to have the leads removed, or spend several days hooked up in a hospital monitoring unit.
Our AER technician came to us, he was friendly, knowledgeable and very patient with my daughter. He explained every step of the way, therefore she was very cooperative.
I removed the leads in the privacy of our own home and sent them and the monitoring unit back to AER with an AER prepaid UPS label. Within a few days our physician called
with the results. AER you just made life for people with epilepsy a bit easier!" Nancy Monica, Lake in the Hills, IL
"AER EEG's primary focus is the patient, and helping that patient to capture data that the doctor can use to identify the problem source and the proper treatment. Without their assistance, I was on a path to being unnecessarily medicated 'based on a hunch'. They provided the data to resolve the problem
based on fact! Thank you AER EEG." Thomas Bergen, New Berlin, WI
"I would not hesitate to recommend AER's services. We were able to get an appointment within a few days. Everyone on staff was excellent, polite, understanding and explained everything that was going to happen. They provide a very comfortable home atmosphere. We could bring my son's favorite VHS video. I would take in-home monitoring over clinic or hospital monitoring any day. My son gets to come home happy and move about. I don't have to take time off work to stay in the hospital with him and try to entertain a 3 year old cooped up in a small hospital room. Our doctor could tell exactly what was going on in a normal daily home situation. AER was extremely quick in hooking up all the leads to my son's head. They listen to the patient and accommodated our situation to return the equipment via UPS. AER has a fast turn-around time for results! I couldn't be happier and have asked my doctor, when we need our next EEG, if we can have it done by AER! I give them an A+." Jennifer Price, Walworth, WI
